Fun and Friends!

We have had a busy week! One of my fellow site supervisors is moving to Colorado, so we had a good bye party for him! It was sad, but he will have lots of fun!

John brought us to this little bar place downtown...it was very unique...There was a guy playing all of these different songs on keyboard. He was pretty funny.

Alecis had a bunch of girls over for a girls night, she made us dinner, and organized a game where she send all of our husbands a questionnaire and they had to fill it out, and we had to guess what they would say. It was fun and I got to know everyone a lot more!

So Nate and I came home to his jeans all chewed up...the belt loops were missing and they looked like this...

My question is...was it the dog or the cat? What do you think?

Happy Valentines day/week!

We had a wonderful Valentines day and week leading up to it! Nate is such a sweetheart, he made me dinner and bought flowers and chocolate....it was a dream :)

We had tons of fun with Joel! Here is another picture, this is from when we walked around Balboa park. It was pretty cool. We were watching one of those street preformor type people and he called me up to help him! I was not going to go, but with all of those people watching me...I had to. So he had me stand up there and hold plungers and hand them to him while he climbed on this guys back and juggled them.

We went to Phils BBQ in Point Loma last night, it was awesome! We had always driven by it and it smelled so good, but yesterday we gave it a try. It was so yummy, we think it beats out Dave's favorite BBQ place in Tennessee. So Dave, if you ever come visit, we are taking you there!!!

It rained yesterday a bit, and I have noticed the most beautiful rainbows here. They are always really long, and the last time it rained there were two perfect rainbows right next to each other. I saw this one as I left the school. (the school in the background is where I work! )

Well, I hope that all is well with everyone. What did you do for Valentines day?

Joel!

So Joel is here! We did some sightseeing yesterday and went to a Wallflowers Concert! It was a good one. It has been very sunny here this weekend, it is almost 80 today, and it was 70 yesterday, so perfect weather for him to escape the snow. Nate and Joel and surfing right now, and we are going to the Zoo this afternoon!

Kelly and I went to see Colbie Caillat Friday night. She was awesome. I love her voice. Trevor Hall and Chris Steele opened for her. They were really fun to watch. Chris Steele plays a Cajon, which is a really cool drum thing...you can watch a clip of him here.

Well, that is all for now! What did you do this weekend?

We bought a car!

So I am proud to announce we bought a car! It is a 1998 Toyota Camry. We found it on Autotrader, and went to test drive it yesterday. Its a really nice car. I will put up pictures as soon as I have them! It is the first car we have bought together, and the first car we bought from someone we didn't know. We are going through so many learning experiences out here!

Other than that, we have just been living life. This weekend Joel Hamstra is coming to visit us and we are SUPER excited! I am going to see Colbie Caillat this Friday with my friend Kelly, and then Nate, Joel and I are going to see The Wallflowers. They were my first concert ever when I was in like 7th grade. That should be a fun one! What was your first concert? What was your favorite concert?

Ollie, Maddi, and Belle (Maddi's best California friend) enjoying the sunshine!

Have a wonderful day!

Rainy Days.

It has been raining a lot lately! Today is a gloomy day and I think I will stay inside!

Has anyone else heard the new Jon Foreman CD's? He is writing one for each season, so far he has Fall and Winter. Both are awesome. Definitely check them out. They are really perfect to listen to at the season. Very calm music.

We spent Friday night eating and bowling with friends from my work. I really work with the coolest people. We had lots of fun! Thanks John, Brian, Rachel, Megan, Jose and Jared for hanging out!

The rest of the weekend we spent relaxing. We ate in Pacific beach, and got some amazing burgers at Bare Back Grill, where Nate's work friend's girlfriend works. It was very yummy and fun! It's a cool atmosphere.
Thats all for today! Have a great Monday!

Beautiful SD!

Nate and I took the day yesterday to do two things we have wanted to since we have lived here...go to Cabrillo National Monument, and to Mt. Soledad Cross. It was a really cool experience. Both have amazing views of San Diego. It was fun to see the whole city like that. Cabrillo has two lighthouses, a monument of Juan Cabrillo, a very beautiful cemetery, and awesome views of SD. Mt. Soledad is a veteran Memorial, and it also has amazing views of SD.

Today is the Chargers game (Nate is watching right now!) We are hoping they win!!! Wade is playing a few blocks from us with his band The Professors, so we will probably wander down there sometime soon :)

This is the sunset last night...beautiful! I took it from across the street at our house. I love that we can see the sunset so well from our place.

Have a great day!

Sunny Days!

It has been BEAUTIFUL this week...Maddi and I have been taking really long walks in the warmth. She is a goofball, I took this picture yesterday. She has been jumping into this chair by our window so she and sit and look out.

Nate and I went to Corvette Diner last night. It was so cool. It is a 50's diner with corvettes and fun waitresses and waiters. The fries were 'bomb' as Tony told us they would be. Then we went to see Juno. We loved it. Has anyone else seen it?

Have a great day!
